Our client is currently looking for Machine Operators to join their existing team due to increased demand. This client is a worldwide supplier of building products and site is one of the UK’s largest suppliers for a variety of metal products.

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for carrying out the production of the manufacturing process on a casting production cell, with full training provided. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Achieving the production targets set for the department on a daily basis
  • Highlighting and communicating faults which may cause production delay
  • Promoting and adhering to the company’s system and procedures at all times
  • Ability to work in automated machine shop environment
  • Ability to set and operate various machine tools including lathes, milling machines, pedestal drills, radial arm drill, bench & surface grinders
  • Ability to set and operate various CNC lathes and CNC milling machines
  • Ability to set machines for production operatives in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must be fully conversant in the use of inspection equipment
  • Must be able to measure accurately and work to within +/- 0.025mm
  • Must have ability to plan method of work including tooling, jigs and fixtures etc.
  • To advise supervision of any relevant issues that may arise
  • To implement corrective actions that have been issued
  • Ensure job clocking/worksheets are completed as required
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment start up and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
  • CNC Machine Operating experience essential


Essential Skills:


  • Previous experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Time served CNC qualification/apprenticeship
  • Previous experience operating machinery
  • Experience of working in engineering company
  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail
  • The ability to work well with others
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
